We’re Building Data-Driven Solutions for Maritime Emissions and Compliance

Our story

  • Late 2020

    Foundations in a Challenging Time

As the world comes to a standstill due to COVID-19, Joerg Molzahn and Albrecht Grundermann, co-CEOs of Euromar, find themselves reflecting on their passion for shipping, data, and sustainability. This period of introspection sows the seeds for a new venture that intersects these fields, especially with the European Union’s Emissions Trading System (ETS) on the horizon.

  • 2021

    Laying the Groundwork

Recognizing the immense potential of their idea, Molzahn and Grundermann establish a new company focused on supporting shipping in their sustainability and emissions compliance through accurate and informed data. They build a diverse team, recruiting developers in Poland, as well as data scientists and customer service representatives in Portugal – many of whom previously worked with them at Euromar.

  • Late 2022

    Gaining Traction

The first customers come on board, and the ETS Manager gains traction, offering first insights into how this new regulation needs to be tackled, both operationally and technically.

  • Summer 2023

    Strengthening the Core

With a renewed focus on growth, Albrecht Grell and Ralf Garrn are asked to join the team as managing directors, bringing with them extensive backgrounds in data, sustainability, and shipping. Together, Grell and Garrn organize a successful Seed funding round, securing 2.75 million euros from prominent investors such as MSC, Peter Döhle, the Schoeller family, TecPier, and theDOCK.

  • July 2024

    Expanding Horizons

With the company’s rapid growth, the headcount increases to 14, and the solution gains traction in Asia. This leads to the opening of a new office in Singapore, broadening the company’s global footprint.

  • August 2024

    Series A Funding

OceanScore’s momentum continues with a successful Series A funding round, further solidifying its place as a leader in software solutions for emissions compliance. The latest FuelEU products are built, which help plan, manage, and mitigate the consequences of this complex regulation, effective January 1, 2025.
