In your role, you will be responsible for:
- Driving new business by identifying, pitching, and closing deals with maritime stakeholders and new partners.
- Identify prospects and build relationships with maritime stakeholders affected by EU ETS and FuelEU across Japan and Taiwan, understanding their needs to define potential use cases.
- Set up qualified meetings and discovery calls with ship owners, managers, operators, and charterers.
- Represent OceanScore in webinars, conferences and industry events, and on-site client meetings.
- Collaborating closely with teams, i.e. sales or product, across regions to share local best practices and translate customer insights to help shape how we serve the Japanese and Taiwanese market.
Please note that this role includes a decent amount of domestic travel, as well as to Singapore and occasionally to Europe (mostly Germany or Portugal).

Your profile:
☑️ For this role the following skills and experiences are required:
- Proven commercial experience (Business Development or Account Management) in SaaS, preferably maritime-related.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, using empathy to leverage clients to success.
- Understanding of decarbonization, EU regulations, and digital transformation in shipping
- You are comfortable with reaching out to new prospects and thrive in client-facing situations.
🤹 Additionally it is beneficial, if:
- You thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and are comfortable taking initiative, drive ideas independently and adapt as we grow.
- You possess excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset, which enables you to work effectively across teams, roles and time zones.
- You navigate comfortably around digital tools and quickly learn new ways of working – previous experience in SaaS or tech-driven environment is a strong plus.
